Help determine the future of AI data centers in Colorado
Big Tech wants to bring their large scale data centers to Colorado.
Right now, Colorado’s state leaders are debating two very different paths to take:
Protects families and small businesses from paying for data centers through higher electricity rates
Data center developers must sign contracts with utilities to avoid leaving customers on the hook for abandoned projects
Requires public engagement and site reviews, including community impact assessment in disproportionately impacted communities
Reporting required on water consumption, efforts to reduce water usage, and water usage effectiveness
Ensures data centers pay the full cost of new generation, transmission and distribution
100% sales and use tax exemption for up to 30 years

Handouts To Big Tech, Rising Energy Bills, & an (even) Bigger State Budget Crisis

Fair Rules + Data Center Accountability
The CEO of Xcel Energy – Colorado’s largest energy provider – recently said he’s working directly with Big Tech companies to determine what the next 10-20 years of Colorado’s energy future will look like. Just last fall, in a regulatory docket, Xcel proposed doubling their entire portfolio in Colorado in the next 5 years, with residential ratepayer bills seeing up to 50% increases by 2031, whereas large load customers like Big Tech would have seen 0% increases.
Xcel has made their intentions clear. We need to act now to ensure working families aren’t the ones shouldering the costs of greed for the world’s wealthiest corporations.
Costs are already rising in our beloved state, and we must stand united against Colorado turning into “Corporado,” where families are run out of town while Big Tech takes over main street!
